📖 How to Use PartyFinder

Step-by-step guide to finding your perfect Mythic+ group

1

Install the WoW Addon

Download and install the PartyFinder addon for World of Warcraft:

  1. Go to CurseForge and search for "PartyFinder"
  2. Download the latest version
  3. Extract the addon to your WoW addons folder:
    World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns\
  4. Restart World of Warcraft
Pro Tip: Use the CurseForge app or Wago Addons to automatically keep your addons updated!
Important: Make sure you're using version 1.0.3 or higher. Older versions have incompatible token formats and won't work with the server.
2

Generate Your Character Link

In World of Warcraft, use the addon to generate your character link:

  1. Type /pf in chat and press Enter
  2. The addon will automatically generate a link with your character data:
    • Name and realm
    • Class, spec, and role
    • Item level (ilvl)
    • Current keystone (if you have one)
    • RaiderIO score and best runs
    • Secure client token
  3. The link will be displayed in chat and automatically copied to your clipboard
What's in the link? The link contains Base64-encoded data about your character. It's safe to share and doesn't contain sensitive information like passwords or account details.
First Time Setup: The addon generates a unique secure token on first use. This token is saved and will be used for all your characters on this PC.
3

Import Your Character to the Website

Open the PartyFinder website and import your character:

  1. Go to https://mythicfinder.online
  2. You'll see a large text box that says "Paste your character link from addon"
  3. Click inside the text box and paste your link (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V)
  4. Click the "Import Character" button
  5. Your character information will appear, including:
    • Name and realm
    • Class and specialization
    • Item level
    • Role (Tank/Healer/DPS)
    • RaiderIO score
    • Current keystone
    • Best runs for each dungeon (showing max available keys)
Character Level Requirement: You must be at least level 80 to use PartyFinder. Characters below level 80 will not be able to join the queue.
Off-Role Warning: If you're playing off-spec (not your main role), you'll see a warning. Your maximum available key levels will be reduced by 2 to ensure fair matchmaking.
4

Choose Your Mode: Create or Find Group

You have two options:

Option A: Create a Group (Use Your Keystone)

  • Click the "đŸ—ī¸ Create Group (Use Keystone)" button
  • Your keystone will be automatically detected from the link
  • You'll become the group leader (host)
  • The system will find 4 players to join your group (1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS depending on your role)
Host Advantage: As a host, you get matched faster because the system prioritizes filling your group. You also control who gets invited to the in-game party.

Option B: Find a Group

  • Click the "🔍 Find Group" button
  • A modal window will appear where you can:
    • Select Dungeons: Choose which dungeons you want to run (select multiple for faster matches)
    • Set Key Level Range: Choose minimum and maximum key levels (based on your best runs)
  • Click "Search for Group"
  • The system will match you with a group leader who has a key in your selected dungeons and level range
Max Key Calculation: Your maximum available key is based on your best runs. If you completed a dungeon in time, you can run +1 level higher. Off-spec reduces max by 2 levels (minimum +2).
Increase Your Chances: Select multiple dungeons and a wider key level range to find matches faster. The system will match you with any compatible group.
5

Wait in Queue

While you're in queue:

  • Queue Timer: Shows how long you've been waiting (displayed at the top right)
  • Live Statistics: Left sidebar shows current queue numbers:
    • Group Leaders (hosts with keystones)
    • Players Looking for Group
    • Tanks / Healers / DPS breakdown
  • Right Sidebar: Shows your queue details:
    • Your role
    • Mode (Creating Group / Looking for Group)
    • Dungeon selection
    • Key level range
  • Leave Queue: Click the red "Leave Queue" button if you need to cancel
State Recovery: If you refresh the page, your queue position and timer are preserved. Don't worry about accidentally refreshing!
Don't Open Multiple Tabs: Opening PartyFinder in multiple browser tabs will cause errors. Close all other tabs before joining the queue.
Sound Notifications: Make sure sound is enabled (speaker icon in top right). You'll hear a notification when a match is found, even if the tab is in the background.
6

Accept or Decline Your Match

When a match is found:

  1. Sound Alert: You'll hear a notification sound (if enabled)
  2. Match Screen: A new screen appears showing:
    • Group leader (host) name and info
    • Dungeon name and key level
    • All 5 group members with their roles, classes, ilvl, and RIO scores
    • Accept status (how many players have accepted)
    • 90-second countdown timer
  3. Review the Group: Check if the group composition looks good
  4. Click Accept or Decline:
    • ✅ Accept: You commit to joining this group
    • ❌ Decline: You reject this match (you'll be returned to queue with priority)
  5. Wait for Others: After you accept, wait for all other players to accept
90-Second Timer: If not all players accept within 90 seconds, the match is automatically canceled. Everyone is returned to the queue.
Priority Return: If someone declines or the timer expires, all players are returned to the front of the queue. You won't lose your place!
Real-Time Updates: The accept status updates in real-time as other players accept. You'll see who has accepted and who is still pending.
7

Join the Group In-Game

Once all players accept, the match is confirmed. Now you need to join the in-game group:

If You're a Player (Not the Host):

  1. The website shows a whisper command like this:
    /w LeaderName-Realm id XXXXXX
  2. Copy the command (click to select, then Ctrl+C)
  3. Go to World of Warcraft
  4. Press Enter to open the chat box
  5. Paste the command (Ctrl+V) and press Enter
  6. Wait for the group leader to invite you
  7. Accept the invite when it appears

If You're the Group Leader (Host):

  1. Wait for players to whisper you in-game with their Match ID
  2. The website shows you the list of players who should whisper you
  3. When a player whispers you, verify the Match ID matches (last 6 characters shown on website)
  4. Invite each player using:
    /invite PlayerName-Realm
  5. Repeat for all 4 players
  6. Once everyone is in the party, start your keystone!
Verify Match ID: Always check that the Match ID the player whispers matches the one shown on the website. This prevents random people from joining your group.
Host Tip: Keep the website open on a second monitor or your phone so you can easily see which players should whisper you.
Cross-Realm Groups: All players can be from different realms. Just make sure to include the realm name when inviting: PlayerName-Realm
8

After the Match (Optional)

What to do after your match is accepted:

If Everything Went Well:

  • Run your dungeon and enjoy!
  • The website will show your accepted match for 20 minutes
  • After 20 minutes, you can search for another group

If You Need to Decline After Accepting:

  • Click the red "❌ Decline Match" button on the accepted match screen
  • Confirm that you want to decline
  • You'll be returned to the import screen and can search again immediately
  • Other players in the match are returned to the queue with priority
Important: Declining after accepting will remove other players from the match. They'll be returned to the queue with priority, but please only decline if absolutely necessary to avoid disrupting other players!

Changing Characters:

  • Click "Change Character" to import a different character
  • This will remove you from any active queue or match
  • Generate a new link in WoW with your other character
  • Import and start searching again
Token Persistence: Your secure token is shared across all characters on the same PC. You don't need to generate a new token for each character.
❗
